Chiari network

The Chiari network is an embryologic remnant which appears as a web-like structure with a variable number of thread-like components. It is characterized by whip-like motion within the right atrium and is attached to the wall of right atrium close to the inferior vena caval opening. It is not pathological but right heart catheters may get entrapped within it. Thin thread like appearance and whip like movement help us differentiate it from a thrombus or any other structure.
